The upper cage keeps my foot locked in during heavy squats without feeling restrictive, and they're light enough that I forget I'm wearing them on the walk home. Switched from my old lifting shoes and these handle the treadmill too without any break-in soreness.

Took these straight from the treadmill to the squat rack without switching shoes, and the caged upper kept my foot locked in the whole time. They're light enough that I forgot I had them on during my walk home.

These have become my go-to for lifting days since they're light enough to forget about but still feel stable under a loaded bar. The caged upper is firmer than I expected, which I like for lateral work. Only gripe is they run a touch narrow for my wide feet.
